Lopaka marbles are intricate and beautifully designed and this one is no exception. Pastel pink petals gather in the middle of this marble with white strands of glass creating the appearance of stamen. Rich green leaves surround the centre flower. Robert Ishimoto has signed this marble ISHI 13 which means it is signed off as a first quality piece and made in 2013. This marble measures 37mm which is approximately 1.45”.
Lopaka is the trade name used by marble maker Robert ‘Bob’ Ishimoto from Hawaii because Lopaka means ‘Robert’ in Hawaiian. Robert first worked with glass in 1972 with a friend making dolphins for tourists. He has worked soft glass (hot shop) since the mid 70’s. He has spent a number of years bouncing between building custom ukuleles and glass, in 2006 he settled down to just working glass. We are privileged to be the only company in England selling Lopaka marbles.
Warning: This item is a collectable marble and is not intended for use in play by children.
